My love letter to a semester abroad cut short
In the spring of 2020, I went to Barcelona for a semester abroad. The plan was to stay from January to June, but then COVID-19 hit. I did make great friends and squeeze in lots of sightseeing in two months, so I flew home to California without any big regrets.
Still, after the first week of “study abroad from home,” I was feeling weird about how abruptly we were sent home. This Instagram post was my way of formally wrapping up my study abroad experience—saying thanks to my friends, to Barcelona, and to the other countries I had visited, however briefly.
