marketing for a start-up

Popcorn is a small start-up, backed by SkyDeck and based in Berkeley. They algorithmically connect college students in 4-way Zoom calls based on personal interests and professional goals.

I was part of their Marketing team during May and June of 2020, and I helped them out a few times later in the summer too.

international friendship day posts

Illustration, layout design, typography, copywriting, simple animation

Popcorn was running a special event for International Friendship Day and wanted to advertise it across all their social media channels. We wanted something colorful, eye-catching, and quick to read.

I made these ads from scratch and adapted them for various social media formats: Instagram posts, Instagram stories, and a Facebook event page.

Of course the shape/layout changes based on the medium, but you might also notice that the copy is different for the Facebook event header (bottom left). That’s because the event page has a designated space for event info, and we didn’t want the header image to be redundant!

logo redesign ideas

Right before I joined, Popcorn was known as Lunchable. When they changed the name, they asked the marketing team to brainstorm ideas for a new logo.
