Personalized Spotify playlist covers

My rainy day project because I was in a music slump. And let me tell you, logging into Spotify became infinitely more enjoyable after uploading these!

And with my irrational need to make everything mean something, you can bet these graphics aren’t just random shapes:

Actually, gud enough is kind of the exception here… for this one I was just playing around with overlapping shapes. Fun fact about this playlist: it contains basically every song that I listen to and is 70 hours long. Yikes.

creme de la creme, as you might guess from the name, is a playlist of my all-time favorites; that’s where these mountain peaks came from.

hw is basically all the music I listen to, minus anything that’s too distracting to do homework to. For this reason the general vibe of the playlist is more chilled out (more “vibey,” if you will), and I convey that with this sound-wavey cover.

I think goooooood vibes is pretty self-explanatory: great songs to listen to while cruising down the California highway on a sunny day with your windows rolled down.

The cover for y’know that mood makes a lot of sense once you know that it’s a playlist of showtunes and Disney songs—perfect for when you’re in the mood for a sing-along.

The stripes on the kpop basically cover are derived from the sets of 3 lines on the Korean flag.

The music in spanish cover is meant to mimic sound waves too, but not the “vibey” kind I used before. (This one is longitudinal instead of transverse? Any physics majors here?) I think it does better to convey the upbeat, rhythmic music in this playlist.

sleepytime is another self-explanatory one, if you ask me. Key point: the single constellation that adds visual variety to what would otherwise be a random smattering of stars.

esther is old now is actually a birthday card disguised as a playlist, My friend Eliz and I made it for our friend Esther a few years back, writing out our message using song titles. The cover of this playlist used to be a picture of us three. Hence, the three rings.
